These are common third-party marketplaces where ENS users list and trade .eth names.
The ENS App and ENS Explorer
The ENS App and ENS Explorer are the two ENS apps. Between them you can:
Register an available name
Renew one name or several
Upgrade a name from v1 to ENSv2
Set a primary name
Edit a name's profile and records
Transfer a name, manage its roles and change its resolver
Create subnames
Import a DNS name
See a name's expiry, owner, token ID and history
Favourite names and set expiry alerts
Marketplaces that list .eth names
A registered .eth name belongs to its owner, and ENS cannot take it from them. ENS names are NFTs, so an owner can list one for sale on a marketplace such as:
OpenSea (opensea.io)
Grails (grails.app)
Name Whisper (namewhisper.ai)
ENS.Tools (ens.tools)
These are listed for information purposes only.
Things to note
Listings are tied to a token ID. The token ID changes when the name is upgraded to ENSv2, when a registry role on it is granted or removed, when it expires and is registered again, or when it is unregistered. A listing for the old token ID ends. See Why did my name's token ID change?
Names expire. Every .eth name has an expiry date. Any wallet can renew a registered .eth name, but renewing does not make you the owner.
What ENS can and cannot do
ENS cannot cancel or change a listing, an offer or a sale. It cannot transfer or take back a name for anyone.
Common questions
Do you recommend a specific marketplace?
No. They are third-party services, run separately from ENS.
Can ENS contact an owner or pass on an offer?
No. To reach an owner yourself, see Can a name be taken back or reassigned?
I have a problem with a name on one of these marketplaces.
Contact that marketplace. Listings, offers and sales live on its systems. ENS cannot contact it for you.
