Good to Know
OpenSea is independent from ENS — ENS support cannot fix OpenSea-specific display issues
Most display problems are caused by OpenSea's metadata cache, not ENS — your name is registered correctly on the blockchain
Refreshing metadata on OpenSea usually fixes outdated info within minutes to a few hours
If your name doesn't appear on OpenSea, use tools.ens.xyz/check to locate it
Names in Grace Period cannot be listed or sold on OpenSea — extend the registration first

Fix outdated ENS info tied to OpenSea's NFT metadata
ENS name updates happen instantly in the ENS App. However, third-party platforms such as OpenSea – or services that rely on OpenSea’s NFT metadata, such as MetaMask wallet – may take longer to reflect changes. You might see:
Sync delays
Outdated name records and expiry dates
Expired or unregistered names showing incorrect ownership
Newly registered names not appearing or showing as invalid
Different platform sync blockchain data differently, which causes discrepancies and delays. Some platforms let you force an immediate refresh.
For MetaMask NFTs with old or missing data, Refresh OpenSea's Metadata on your name.
For OpenSea information, see below.
How to Refresh Metadata on OpenSea
For most issues, try Force OpenSea to update your ENS name:
Go to your ENS name on OpenSea
Can't find your name? Use this tool to locate it on OpenSea: tools.ens.xyz/check
Select the 3-dots (top right hand corner)
Click "Refresh Metadata"
Updates usually appear within minutes, but OpenSea's cache can take up to a few hours to refresh.
Other issues
ENS name doesn't show at all
ENS names work immediately in the ENS App but may take hours to appear on OpenSea because OpenSea updates its database periodically.
I'm not listed as the owner of my name
If you see random digits, "Unknown ENS name", the wrong owner, or no owner listed, refresh your metadata to update OpenSea's records. To fix this, Refresh OpenSea's metadata. This updates OpenSea's database and usually fixes the issue within a few hours.
Name cannot be listed or sold
Check that your name hasn't expired. ENS names that have expired and in Grace Period are not able to be transferred (sold), or have any of their records updated. Extend the name's registration on app.ens.domains
"Delisted" notice
Can't see your name on OpenSea? Contact OpenSea Support to try restore your listing.
Still having issues?
Give it some time - OpenSea's cache can be slow to update
After 24 hours, contact OpenSea's Help Center.
OpenSea runs their platform independently, so contact their support team for persistent issues
