How can I get and manage a uni.eth subname?

ENS names from Uniswap Labs

Updated this week

uni.eth subnames from Uniswap Labs

Uniswap offers personalised ENS subnames under the uni.eth subname. These subnames allow you to have readable, memorable identifiers tied to your wallet address.

How to Register your uni.eth Subname

Visit Uniswap and get their mobile app to register your subname. Follow their provided registration process.

Managing your uni.eth Subname

Subnames under uni.eth are managed exclusively via the project's own frontend and registration flow. Because of this custom setup:

  • ENS App cannot be used to manage these names directly.

  • Custom configurations and records are handled exclusively via the Uniswap mobile app.

Support and Issues

For assistance with registration, renewal, name management, or troubleshooting, contact Uniswap Support directly. (See Uniswap Help Centre)

Pricing

Any Pricing and renewal terms are set by Uniswap. At the time of writing, subnames are free to Uniswap Mobile app users. Visit Uniswap mobile app for current pricing and renewal details.

Setting your Subname as your Primary ENS Name

Although managed externally, your uni.eth subname can be set as your primary ENS name via the ENS App:

  • Connect your wallet to the ENS App.

  • Ensure you're on Mainnet Ethereum.

  • Search your subname and select it.

  • Under the Profile tab, click Select As Primary Name.

  • Confirm the transaction in your wallet.

Refer to the ENS guide on How to Set Primary Name.

uni.eth Subname Features and Limitations

uni.eth usernames offer a simple way to use ENS, but with a few key limitations:

  • They are non-transferrable between wallets.

  • Names are offchain

  • You cannot create subnames under your uni.eth username.

  • Limited record setup. Not all the records and features are available as they are with owning your own .eth ENS names.

Register your own .eth name

Having a uni.eth subname doesn't prevent you from registering your own standalone .eth domain. Once you have your .eth name, you can also create and manage your own custom subnames.
