Extend multiple names at once

Extend multiple .eth names from the mynames page

Updated this week

Good to Know

  • You need ETH on Ethereum Mainnet to cover renewal fees and gas.

  • Anyone can extend any .eth name, however extending does not change ownership.

  • Bulk renewals are only available in one-year increments.

  • Names in Grace Period can still be extended.

  • After the Grace Period ends, expired names enter Temporary Premium and anyone can register them.

Extending Multiple Names

Save time and gas by renewing multiple .eth names in one transaction.

Step 1: Access Your Names

  1. Connect your wallet to the ENS App.

  2. Navigate to the My Names page. You'll see all names where you're the Owner or Manager.

Tip: Search any wallet address to see its linked names.

Step 2: Select Names to Extend

  1. Tick the checkbox next to each name you wish to extend.

  2. Click Extend.

Note: If you are not the owner of all selected names, a warning will appear. You can still proceed.

“You do not own this name. Extending this name will extend the current owner's registration length. This will not give you ownership of it.”

Step 3: Review and Set Duration

  1. Review your selected names and click Next.

  2. Select how many years to add (minimum 1 year for bulk renewals).

  3. Click Next to proceed.

Step 4: Confirm the Transaction

  1. Click Open Wallet.

  2. Confirm the transaction in your wallet.

  3. Once complete, the updated expiry dates will be displayed for all renewed names.

Common Questions

Who can extend a name?

Any wallet can extend any .eth name. You do not need to be the current owner.

Does extending a name transfer ownership?

No. The ownership remains unchanged after extension.

Can I extend a name that's in Grace Period?

Yes. Names in Grace Period can still be extended by anyone.

Can I extend a name that's in Temporary Premium?

No. Names in Temporary Premium are unregistered—you must register them as new names, not extend them.

What’s the difference between extending by years vs date?

Extending by years adds full years to your current expiration. Extending by date lets you choose an exact expiration date—useful for aligning multiple names or extending for less than a year. Date selection is only available for single-name extensions.

What happens if I don’t have enough ETH?

You’ll see an insufficient balance warning. Make sure your wallet has enough ETH on Ethereum Mainnet to cover both the renewal fee and gas costs. ETH on L2s (e.g. Arbitrum, Optimism) cannot be used for renewals.

Can I undo a renewal?

No. Blockchain transactions are permanent. Once confirmed, you can't undo the extension.

Can I schedule automatic renewals?

The ENS App doesn't support automatic renewals yet. Extend your names manually before they expire.

Can I renew names from other wallets?

Yes. You can extend any .eth name from any wallet. The extension fee is paid by the wallet initiating the transaction.

What if I extend a name someone else owns?

You'll pay the renewal fee, but the current owner keeps the name. Some people do this as a gift or to support a project they value.
