Your ENS profile is the set of records other apps read to show who yourname.eth is: your avatar, bio, social handles and the wallet addresses you receive funds at. You edit it in the ENS App.
Good to know
Everything you add is public. Records live on the blockchain, so anyone who looks up your name can read them. See Is my ENS name private?
Saving is a transaction. With Smart Sessions on, you still approve it in your wallet. You need a little ETH for network fees (gas).
For what each record is, see Profiles and records
Edit your profile
Open a name you own and select Edit Profile. A name you haven't upgraded to ENSv2 can't be edited in the ENS App.
Pick a tab on the left (General, Contact, Addresses, Links, Appearance, Other records), then select a chip to add a value. Select − on a chip to remove its value.
For a social link, open the Contact tab and select the platform's chip under Social, such as Twitter, and type your handle without the @. For anything else, use Add more on the Links tab and give it a title and a URL.
For wallet addresses, open Addresses, enter your Ethereum address if there isn't one yet, then add the chains you want. Chains that work like Ethereum (EVM chains), such as Base and Arbitrum, reuse that address. For a chain that is not EVM, such as Bitcoin, enter that chain's address.
For your avatar, open the General tab and select Add a profile picture, then upload an image, choose an NFT or paste a link. An upload asks you to sign a message in your wallet, which costs no gas. For the banner, select Add a banner image.
For your theme colour, open the Appearance tab and select one of the five themes.
Select Preview, then Publish changes. Check the list of changes in the pop-up and confirm. Then select Go to Profile to see it.
Common questions
How do I undo changes before I save?
Select Cancel. Nothing is saved until you select Publish changes.
Where does my banner show?
Your banner is saved as a public record on your name, so other apps can read it. Whether another app shows it is up to that app.
My avatar or social links look blank after upgrading. Why?
Upgrading keeps your name's text records and addresses. Open the name in ENS Explorer and check its Records section. If a record is missing there, add it again with Edit Profile.
How do I add a website, ABI or custom record?
Open the Other records tab. Fill in Content hash or Contract ABI (JSON), or select Add custom record.
Why do I see Set up resolver instead of Edit Profile?
Your wallet can't edit the name's current resolver. Select it to give the name a resolver your wallet controls, then edit as normal. If you replace a resolver, only the records you edit are kept.
