How to Send an ENS name

Transfer an ENS name with Send button

Updated over a month ago

Good to Know

  • The send button only appears for the owner

  • Send initates a single flow to update the ETH Record, Manager (for unwrapped names), and Owner to a new address.

    • Each address change requires its own transaction.

    • If the existing owner address is not the same as the manager or ETH Address, it will not update all three roles.

  • The order order or transaction are always ETH record, Manager, then Owner.

  • Sending a name are gas only transactions requiring ETH on Ethereum Mainnet

To individually assign ETH address, Manager & Owner roles, to one, or different, wallet addresses, instead use the Edit Roles button.

FAQ

Why don't I have a manager?

Names wrapped in the name wrapper do not have manager, instead the Manager role is merged into the Owner-role. Names registered via the ENS App are automatically wrapped. More information here.

Manager: The manager of records - the wallet allowed to make changes to its records (but not transfer the name)
