Registering a name on ENS involves two steps:
Commit – this is just a signal that you're preparing to register. It uses gas but doesn't charge you for the name yet.
Register – this is where you pay and complete the registration.
Both steps must be completed for your name to be registered.
What happens if you speed up the commit transaction?
If you speed up or replace the commit transaction, the ENS App may not recognise it. This can cause the page to get stuck on a loading screen or show messages like “Almost there” or “Your transaction is in progress” — even though the transaction succeeded on the blockchain.
How to fix it
Go to your browser settings.
Clear the cache just for
app.ens.domains
.Return to the ENS App and start the registration again.
Note:
Speeding up the register transaction or other actions in ENS won’t cause this problem. It only affects the commit step.
