You cannot burn or delete a .eth name: once registered, it exists onchain until it expires. What you can do is disassociate it from your wallet. Make a fresh burner wallet, then use Send with Reset profile ticked to move the Owner, Manager and ETH Address to it and clear the records in one flow. The name keeps existing; nothing on your active wallet points at it any more.

Burner wallet, not burn address. Send to a wallet you control, so you can recover the name if you change your mind. The
0x000…000burn address is irreversible: the name is locked there for ever.You need to be both the Owner and the Manager. Start connected to the Owner wallet; if the two roles are on different wallets, run Sync Manager first.
You need ETH on Ethereum Mainnet for gas; there is no other cost.

The three roles
A .eth name has three roles, and disassociation moves all three to a wallet you will not use again.

How to disassociate the name
1. Make a burner wallet.
In your wallet app, create a new wallet. This wallet becomes the name's Owner.
2. Open the Ownership tab.
Go to app.ens.domains, connect the current Owner wallet, search for your name and open the Ownership tab.

3. Select Send and enter the burner.
Type the burner's 0x address, or its ENS name.

4. Turn on Reset profile.
This clears every record on the name as part of the same flow: ETH Address, other-chain addresses, social handles, avatar, header and text records. If the switch does not appear, the records are already empty, or the Manager is not on the Owner wallet.

5. Review the summary and select I understand.
The summary lists every change: Update Owner, Update Manager (unwrapped names only), Update ETH Record, and Remove Profile Records if any exist.

6. Approve each transaction in your wallet.
Select Open Wallet and approve the first, then select Next and approve the next, in this order: Reset profile (or Update ETH Record if there is nothing to clear), Send Manager (unwrapped names), Send Owner.

When the last transaction lands, the name's Owner, Manager and ETH Address all point at the burner. Your active wallet is clear of the name.
Common questions
I only want the name to stop showing in apps. Do I need all this?
No. If the name only needs to stop appearing for your wallet, clear your primary name instead. That is the link that tells apps to show yourname.eth when your wallet connects, and clearing it leaves the name itself untouched. See Clear your primary name.
Do I need to clear the primary name on my old wallet too?
It is not necessary. If your old wallet had yourname.eth as its primary name, that link stopped working the moment the ETH Address changed. The wallet's reverse record is still set, though, so to remove it explicitly, see Clear your primary name.
Can I get the name back later?
Yes, if you sent it to a burner you control: connect the burner and transfer the name back with Send. If you sent it to 0x000…000, no. Even an expired-then-re-registered version of the name is a new registration, not the original.
Can I burn or destroy the name instead?
No. A .eth name cannot be burned or destroyed. To let it go entirely, stop renewing it: it runs through the 90-day grace period, then temporary premium, when anyone can register it at a fee that falls to zero.
